Antique Persian Tabriz carpet, hand-knotted in wool and featuring an exceptionally detailed garden-inspired design. The composition is arranged around a large shaped central medallion surrounded by architectural compartments, flowering trees, palmettes, blossoms, and finely drawn scrolling botanical motifs. The carpet has a particularly attractive teal blue-green ground, balanced by muted rose, rust, salmon, brick red, soft gold, ivory, and deep blue. Multiple floral borders frame the elaborate central field and give the piece a beautifully layered appearance. The rug displays the finely articulated drawing and sophisticated floral ornament associated with Tabriz weaving. Its softened palette and areas of naturally worn pile give it an appealing antique patina.
